it's funny that kids want to go as household items , foil and q-tip!
We're plannig this for this year:
son (3) peter pan
Daughter (1) tinkerbell
me as wendy
hubby as captain hook
My problem is that last year halloween was so very very cold my daughter was in a fleece bumble bee costume and was cold! Tinker bell might be just too cold! even if I layer the top with long sleeves and get some thick tights! any suggestions?
Here's my plans for making the costumes:
peter: felt top layered with a dark brown long sleeve shirt for warmth over brown sweats. add a dagger and a "belt" oh yeah and a felt hat
wendy: a blue nightgown (basically a long peasant top (i'll either layer clothes under neath or make it long sleeved)
Tink: big fluffy tutu with the fairy wings tutorial found here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=146985.0
to make her warmer I'll probably put in in "baby legs"
Cpt hook: white scarf, big jacket (i'll have to see what I can find at good will) black pants stuffed into white knee high socks, felt hat and a sword

the hat/baby is so cute, did you use a pattern (for the hat)?

1 year old - Hobbit Look at his little hairy feet!
3 years old - A knight in shining armor. Apparently he'd just lost.
4 years old - Wizard
Do you see a theme here?
This year we're going in a different geeky direction. He's going as the Green Lantern.

Seeing as this area is for sewing kids clothing, I assumed that we would be sticking to kids costumes. I'm not trying to be a poo or anything, but there is a Halloween section for Halloween costumes. Just my 2 cents.
I just threw that picture in because it went with the theme but whatever.
Anyways, glad everyone is adding to this post. I love some of the ideas in here. The Qtip made me lol.
