your tam turned out so cute, i love it! i have wanted to knit a tam for ages but have not seen a pattern i like until now.  i loved the secret garden as a kid, i would watch it over and over when i was home sick, and i love the new version too.  i will feel very english country wearing it even though i live in tucson.  i might need to make one for a friend who just moved to the uk too ; )  great job!

That looks great!  My niece just saw that movie and loved it.  Guess I should try and make her a tam for Christmas...

I'm in the middle of mine right now. I'm using Cascade 220 though, so we'll see how it turns out. I've got three inches Smiley

no, just repeat the pattern, not the 3 rounds. I will edit the pattern so it's clearer

I AM SO DUMB! repeat the 3 knit rows *headdesk*

then knit 3 rounds...
and then another purling round...
etc...

it was early and i couldnt wait to knit... if this isnt right its ok.. i like how it looks.. and the girl im knitting it for will like it too...

It's just a variation on the pattern. It will make it unique and different. I demand pictures of it when you are done!!!

My mother's favorite book is the secret garden and I can remember her reading it to me and I've always loved the movie...your design is wonderful and perhaps just that hat I was looking to knit myself for Mardi Gras.

Cheers from Nola.
