my best friend is soooo hard to buy for!! annnd..lately has been complaining about her *massive* collection of long dangly's not having a home...

so.. this is her christmas present *eek..hoping she's not a closet-craftster!*, and some earrings to match (which i didn't make!  Embarrassed )

all you need is..

* a cheapo canvas from the reject shop or similar
* some tule (or netting, flyscreen etc)
* glue
* maybe some wire to hang it with

and all you do is..

* cut a big hole out of the canvas
* measure and cut your tule to fit in behind where you've cut
* glue it down to the back of the canvas
* go nuts and paint / decorate however you like!
* put some wire / string on the back and staple or nail so it stays, so you can hang it on a wall!

i made two... and so far the other one is just a black frame.... any inspirations or ideas for a funky border pattern?!

oh... and thankyou to Ariel for her post here - *such* a handy idea... with sooo sooo many cute earrings to match!!

funny thing is...... i'm supposed to go home for break in about a week....and stealing my dad's power tools i had planned to do the same thing, but with a weird funky shape and window screen.

but yours is gorgous...you did a great job

"how'd you know that?"
"....like any decent secretary...i listened in on the other line!"

another easy organiser is what my mom uses ... she puts all of her earings in ice cube trays and keeps them in a drawer in her vanity area. so you just open the drawer and see like 6 ice cubetrays laying out with earings all organized. but your idea is so much more crafty Wink

Some things are true whether you want to believe in them or not.

I really love my stocking fairy wings on my wall that all of my dangly earrings are pushed into. Grin

I recently did something exactly like that only I took a really nice picture frame that I had no use for, spray painted it gold and attached the wire to it. It is exatly like yours only instead of crazy and fun it looks elegant.

That IS easy-peasy. Good job.

thanks guys..

i've got another frame etc ready to go for another friends birthday...but i'd like to attach a couple of hooks and small trays to it somehow so she can also hang necklaces/bracelets and put non-dangly earings in it too! i'll post a pic when it's done!
