Today I was at the yarn shop, desperately pleading for a miracle, hoping the had DPNs.... They had no idea such a thing existed... instead the girl presented me with a tunisian crochet hook asking me if that's what I was looking for (I actually got a miracle 'cause nobody knows anything beyond crocheting around here).
So, I come home very excited about my new tunisian crochet hooks (I had to buy one in each size, of course) and my beautiful new yarns.
I start tunisian crocheting a scarf in double tunisian stitch... I followed the instructions word by word... and it turns out like this:

WTF? It's leaning to the right??? I'm skipping the first vertical line, but it's still leaning to the right!!!!! What am I doing wrong??? HELP!!

When you do your last pick up stitch in the row, I do it into the outside of the stitch as usually there is one last verticle bar  and then your last stitch ,doesn't always look quite the same. Then i always do a chain stitch and the do my cast off row as normal. I hope you are able to understand me. If you look at your bottom left row,the yellow part you can see you picked up there ok. Also on your third row up on the right you look to have made an extra stitch which is easy to do and you have continued to do this. Never pick up in the space right next to your hook or you will make an extra stitch.Try it again don't worry its easy to make a mistake when you are learning. Kim Guzman has tutorials and online lessons and there is a Tunisian crochet group on Yahoo if you are interested or the Nexstitch tuts are good to.
