First quilt!  It's black, white and orange with black satin binding (store bought, not up to making my own binding just yet!) and white chenille backing.  The chenille is so soft, but it's really prone to wrinkling and bunching while being quilted.  Good thing it's the reverse and most people won't be looking at it.  Some of the white threads from my first ripped out attempt at binding are still visible, but those should all come out with time.

This is laid on my coffee table, it's about a small crib size.

Backing

This last one shows more true colors and the patterns.

Oh wow, that looks real nice. I've never been into the quilt thing but lately after seeing all these nice new ones I'm leaning to maybe I'll do one....someday. Great Job!

That is very pretty!  I would never have thought to do black, orange, and white together, but it's very striking.

Juliasews, black white cottons are fabulous!  I'm thinking next time I get up the guts to attempt a quilt (I want to try a different pattern next time) the black and white will return.

MacesMeMe, they're not too hard as far as the cutting, piecing and layout goes depending on how simple a first pattern you pick (a nine patch is very straight forward, and large squares will fill up your quilt very quickly).  That went pretty quickly for me (about 3 hours spread over a few days after the kids went to bed), the hardest part for me was quilting the whole thing together, since it only kind of fit in my machine and I bought a tricky backing fabric.

Great job, and I love the black and white fabrics! They're awesome, esp. the one that looks like a fingerprint, or the inside of a tree.

I'll second what others have said about the colour combination:  the black, white and orange work really well together, and it's not something I would ever have thought of.  Good job!
