Genesis 2v24... One Day :)

So, 13th October is mine and the boyfriend's 3 year anniversary and I'm stuck as to what to get for him. So far I definitely want to make a card centered around the "We go together like Jack and Jill, Fish and Chips, etc" idea and I want to give him an iris (as in the Goo Goo Dolls song, one of our favourite songs and also happens to be the first song I ever heard/saw him sing on stage (and he sung the lines, "You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be and I don't wanna go home right now" looking straight at me! *Melts*))

Ahem.

Anyhoo, here is some information about us to help you out...
 - I'm 18 and he's 19 and neither of us have a lot of money
 - We're both Christians
 - He's incredibly camp, practically gay in everything apart from sexual orientation!
 - He has a naturally good taste in clothes
 - He's a musician, specifically a singer, more specifically a worship leader, but also plays guitar and piano
 - He loves extreme sports, especially skateboarding, long boarding, inline-ing and bmx-ing
 - He's not a gaming geek (unfortunately, otherwise this would be much easier!)
 - He loves building things
 - He can be very romantic, but I don't want to get too mushy on him
 - We're very serious about our relationship. As in the main reasons why we're not already married is because of a lack of money and I'm not sure if I want to get married before finishing (and definitely not before starting) University.
 - Oh yeah, and it's not 100% sure if we're going to see each other actually on our anniversary. Work sucks.

And now here's the main problem - in 18 days I'm moving 4 hours drive away from him (instead of 10 minutes walk). He lives with his parents and I'm going to be living with 11 other Christians about the same age as me, so I don't want to give him something either he or I will be embarrassed about.

My main craft is sewing, but I also knit and do pyrography (burning pictures in wood), plus I draw, take photos and do a bit of writing, but I'm ready to try anything!

I think that's everything I can tell you, thanks in advance!

PS And yes I have read the Generic Boyfriend Gift thread! All 60million pages!

Maybe you could burn the words to the Psalm chapter about Love on a small plaque or nice piece of wood and place/decopage a pic of you two in a nice hug or simply sitting together enjoying each other's company.

Sorry, although I'm a Christian, I do not know my bible verses very well...but we did have this read at our wedding. It's a really good verse and keeps you grounded as to what Love really is.

I really like that idea, so much so that I actually did it for our first anniversary! Lol! But thanks for the input!

why don't you do a picture book of places you have been together, add in some lyrics from his/your favorite worship songs, poems, and put it all together by reconstructing a book. You could easily use an old cereal box, some scrap fabric, glue... a DIY scrapbook, minus the expensive doo-dads.

Oh, oh! You could also put in some art photos of guitars. You know, take some photos of instruments after service, all with interesting angles.
