This was a birthday present I made for a friend.  I read an article in a pastel magazine a while back that gave instructions on how to recycle pastels.  Since I had a whole package of broken, used pastels, I decided to try it to make for my friend who loves to draw.  I also made a mini sketchbook from recycled paper that I had made last year.

The pastels and the sketchbook:

A closeup of the speckled pastels (some cracked because I didn't let them dry long enough Cry:

And the box to hold the pastels and sketchbook that I decoupaged with bits of the recycled paper.  (I put it together pretty fast so it looks kind of tacky):

What a nifty idea! I'll have to do that with my old pastels. And such cute packaging!

Wow, I had no idea you could recycle old pastels!

Come on in, I'll put on a pot of bourbon.
I'm the lost one.
