so i was at my favorite beach town, and there's a new tea shop there. in amongst the gifts and knick knaks i found a basket of tea wallets. not very expensive, they were only $4.95. normally right up my alley. but i'm a seamster, so i decided to make my own instead.

 here it is.

folded it's about 3 x 4 flat it's roughly 6 x 4 it's got four pockets you can put teabags, or sugar packets or even little coffee sachets in there.

i'm going to make a whole bunch for my coworkers at the pharmacy for holiday gifts. and you really can make them with scraps.

That's super cute, what did you use for the letters?

they are actually scrapbook brads i had kicking around the house. it really is a scraps or stash busting project. the letters also needed a bit of glue to keep them in place

So adorable!  Love it!  You could even personalize these with those alphabet beads just strung across and stitched into the side seams...just a thought.  But I really do love the letter blocks you used.  Great job!!  Cheesy

so i hate to be a total nerdy nerd, here are some more; i made these all night while watching the Sox.

after a summer of no sewing at all, (ugh, i'll pass on using the iron in august thanks) this is a fun project to get back into the groove.  oh, one thing. putting snaps on them is too much finishwork for me. i love tedium, but in smaller doses. so instead i used hair elastics and buttons. you could make a loop out of the fabric used, or even a satin ribbon too.
