edit - SORRY IF THE PICTURES AREN'T WORKING - BEAR WITH ME AS I FIND RELIABLE PHOTO HOSTING...

My family is huge and we get together all the time. A few years ago my uncle decided we should have a themed Labor day camping trip, and it stuck. So this year I asked my mom to ask him what the theme is so I'd have time to prepare. She said "he said you're in charge." So we had a pirate party.
Here's Kalten's outfit. I took these pictures after washing. It didn't fray as much as I hoped. Guess I forgot a close-up of the shirt. It's light blue flannel applique with just a straight machine stitch around the insides of the letters. The pirate was from a flannel print with zig-zag stitch. The dot to the i and the exclamation point are skull and crossbones buttons.

Back

Parrot on his shoulder!

LOVE these fringey pants. Finished them as we were pulling up to the campsite.

The little pirate himself (the smallest blank shirt I had was a 2/4 so it'll fit for a while.)

"You GOT me, uncle Scotty!"

He's turning into a ham for the camera

Arr!

His pirate name: Trusty Stolen Beard. I was Old Chunk Gullet. We all got names!

I spent so much time on his outfit that I just glued some plastic necklace and gold coin trim from Wal-mart to a gray t-shirt for myself and went as a treasure "chest" and DH wore a black skull bandana.

Oh, adorable! Both your son, and his pirate garb. Couldn't be cuter if you tried!!!!

And PS...on the fraying thing, if you rub back and forth with a piece of sandpaper or a steel wool dish-washing pad, you can make the garment fray faster. Just dont rub too hard or you can wear a hole into it!
