Hi cutek94,

I just used a cotton thread to piece it.  I'm not sure about the quilting though because it was quilted for me by my friend's mom.  It was all done by machine, and really didn't take too long.  I think it took me about a week and a half to piece it together, and my friend's mom was able to quilt it in about 2 days. The binding took the longest.
