Hi! Just an update. I was in the middle of doing a scarf with this same yarn in the basket stitch. I ran out of yarn and didn't want to pay to $60 plus to order more so I frogged this hat.

I'm now happily knitting away! I guess when the yarn is ehausted I'll just have to bind off the scarf.

The scarf I'll wear. The hat I won't so I thought it was the thing to do!

I nearly gasped when I saw this..I've been wanting a lace hat but wasn't completely in love with any of the ones I saw.  I like Halley's comet by marnie but it's a nicer top view then it is from the front.  I think I'll make this in white (I have almost black hair, so that will look nice).  I'm the opposite of you...I don't really bother with scarves much but love hats, my ears get cold, I need a hat more than a scarf.  I think I'll look for something with some alpaca in it and I'll be sure to post pics if I ever get this done.
