ive lurked here forever and i found your post and just had to tell you that quilt is amazing!

i was actually on the quilt boards looking for some insight on making my first quilt..a memorial one also. My mum passed 3 years ago and she was the craftest woman my family ever knew lol. Recently my whole family started getting together to finish a dollhouse my mum had started but not finished.

anyways just wanted to say i loved your post and your project with the family and youve made me more driven to finish all the mommy craft projects Smiley

This is beautiful, in so many ways.

I, too, have a grandmother. Yours sounds like she was a fabulous woman and I'm so glad that you were able to make that quilt for her. I'm not sure what else to say, other than your post  and your quilt trully touched me and made my heart do this little tightening thing.

Awww... *hugs*

Thanks.

It was a really important project for me to finish.

I'm only kinda sad that I won't ever see it again (way less sad than not seeing her for a while, that is). But I'm glad I finally made good on her present.

It always reminds me to finish what I start now. I'm still not great at that.

Thanks for your comments.

Cry My grandmother's funeral is tomorrow, and I searched "memorial" hoping to do the same thing for my family.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea and am hoping to incorporate some of her clothing after we clean out her closet.  My grandfather is still alive, so it will probably go to him or my mother, as it was her mom who passed. also of cancer.  We had 31 days to say our goodbyes, but even that was not enough.

Thank you so much for posting this!!!

Daisyprincess,

No problem.

I'm sorry about your loss...but very happy that I might be able to help in some small way.

Feel free to let me know if there are any specifics you need for this quilt.

I threw it together in 2 days. (There was no batting in the center. That saved time)

*hugs*
