Thanks to references on Craftster, I found this great sleep sack tutorial:

One of the baby girls I recently made booties and mitts for was revealed by a later ultrasound to be A BOY!  So, I wanted to make a useful but uncommon gift.

We LOVED using sleep sacks with our son when he had outgrown swaddling.  They're all fleecy and warm.  I thought this fall baby might appreciate a lighter flannel version that reflects his parents' art background and interests.

I threw in some little no scratch mitts for his early newborn days.  We were really happy with how the images ended up placed on the mitts.

This is a great gift for anyone with a new baby and a variable climate.  The fleece is best for the cold of winter.  Flannel is good for Spring and Fall (and summer in my highly air conditioned house).  Cotton would be divine for summer.

What a cute idea!

On my DD's sleep sacks, I always thought it was really cool that they inserted the zippers upside down. So they zip from the neck to the feet instead of vice versa.

This keeps little hands from pulling down the zipper.

Just thought that was a cool idea some baby-sack person had! Grin

Hi Maria-

I found the flannel at Joann Fabrics.  It's on sale this week for $2.99/yd.  Dreamy, eh?

This is soooo cute My boys would die for anything with that fabric.  I am going to have to go to Joannes and hope they have some tucked away somewhere. Great job on the mitts too!
