I don't get to do much girly stuff, so when I got the opportunity for a swap, I went nuts.

clippies!

and the back. I zigzag stitched fleece to cutout images and then cut a little slot and shoved the barrettes in. I've heard these stay better than regular ones in baby fine hair.

I'm angry at my sewing machine because the zigzag stitch doesn't go higher than 2 anymore so it's really narrow and has more of a chance of coming up. It's already been to the shop twice, and this problem showed up the first time I tried it after it came home the second time. I guess I'll have to take it back AGAIN. The thing weighs like eighty bazillion pounds.

They were actually an afterthought. Took about five minutes and they're my favorite part of the outfit.

That is adorable.  Lucky little girl!!!  Where did you find that great hula girl fabric from?  I'm originally from Hawaii so I am always on the lookout for more hula fabric.  Smiley

Oooooh, kawaii!  I love the applique on the shirt.  I would never have thougt of that!

I love that fabric, too - I got some around Thanksgiving last year and made a baby blanket with it, with polkadots in matching colors on the reverse side.  I had my baby in Feb, which is still frigid up here, for some color and a reminder that spring was on the way.  I love the applique on the shirt, too.  I would never have thougt of that!
