I asked my first grader Ro to draw the rocket from the fabric on a piece of paper.  I then traced it with a fabric marker and fabric crayons to make the shirt.  Then I made some shorts to sort of go with it.  He L-O-V-E-S red white and blue things so the shorts were a hit.

Here he is his first day with his new teacher (which is the same teacher my sixth grader had for Kindy!!)

So cute.  I love that his drawings are immortalized.  Even better that you can look back and remember what size he was when he drew them.
PS- my oldest is in third grade this year, and he has the same teacher I had in third grade.  I was mean, and asked her how old she feels!

What a great idea!  It will be something to hold on to once he grows out of it.
