They are really nice - I actually made something like that a few months ago, after being inspired by a woman selling teacup-pincushions on etsy.
Here are mine:

I only had one espresso cup by hand, so I used tiny flower pots and a bowl. Of course, my favorite is the strawberry...

i love things that are crafty and useful at the same time! how did you get the fabric to stay in the cups? or is it just sitting inside it? i second that a tute would be great if you're willing!

 I love this idea. My biggest problem with my pin cushion now is that
 I push a needle in and it gets lost because it has no head. This way I could retrieve it on the other side! And these are so cute you could leave them out instead of hiding them in a drawer.
