Alright. So I took a bunch of CDs and heated a paperclip and made little holes and used floss to tie them together. And I made a Wall Hanging that sucks and one day will become a door hanging

Look for the caption that says something about iris's and ignore the flowers and uhhhh sorry for the grainy picture.

Cheers!

Cool..
I made basically the same exact thing a few yrs ago out of those stupid AOL cds...
but I like your idea of the heated paperclip to make a hole. I just used marine glue, and sandwiched fishing line between two cds. It took a bunch of cds to make a whole strand though.
Anyhow..yay for cd hangings!

Looks pretty nifty.

But I LOVE those shoes- did you make them yourself? What did you use?

I just made another strand and it is hanging beside it. I am hoping to get enough to put them in my door so no one just walks in and they need a reason.

I just used magazine pitures for the shoes...

The AOL CDs came in these Cardboard things are the size of cards and I am using them to make cards... It is pretty neat. I am going to get a better camera so you guys can see.

what a totally great idea!!! My husband and i are total burnaholics, and because our burn program (or the drive it self) is iffy, we make a lot of duds.  Untill now i was just tossing them away, but now i think i am gonna make a curtain outta them!!!  Awsome! (cause i hate wasting stuff i can recycle into crafts)   Grin

i will never do this so i hope someone else will:
it would be really cute to make a skirt out of them.  obviously, the cds would break, and you wouldn't be able to sit down, but it could be part of a fun costume, just once.

The moment I wanted to do stuff with old AOL cds, AOL stopped sending their junk mail.   Roll Eyes

Those would be really cool window curtains.

cool hanging thingy!

I have to find my fishing line.

THye have a whole bunch of AOL cds at blockbuster, just bring a purse and pick up as many as you want. I say bring a purse because well, walking out of blockbuster with hands full of cds isn't considered normal...

OOO I was so surprised to see that someone did the same thing! I also made a sort of curtain out of aol cd's and I connected them with jump rings. I made it the exact dimensions of my door so I could hang it there. At first I only attatched to the door at the top so it swung all willy nilly everytime a person opened the door and it was really loud but since then I've attached it in a million places with those little sticky squares used for hanging pictures and stuff. I'll post pictures as soon as I can!

Since I hung it up and everyone who comes in my house sees it, they have all started giving me even more aol cds thinking that i'll need them for some other reason........they're funny.  Hey I'm open to any more ideas for using them!

Cds melt really well in the oven. I didn't have any records so I was melting cds to make bowls. I ended up cutting shapes out of the cds and then stacking the shapes and melting them together. They would make fabulous jewelry, window hangings, etc.
