Sooo, my friend Erica's two favorite things in the world are the New York Yankees and coffee. Since her birthday is coming up pretty quickly, I decided to whip her up a Yankees coffee sleeve. My first idea was to use intarsia or duplicate stitching. Unfortunately, the duplicate stitching kind of blended together since there isn't too much space on a coffee sleeve. I settled on embroidering the logo on, and it looks so much better. Granted, the embroidery isn't as thick as the original logo, but I like it better this way.

No real pattern to speak of, I just kept holding the WIP up to a cardboard coffee sleeve to make sure I was on the right track. This only took me about an hour or so. It's knit from the bottom up, if anybody's wondering.

Yarn is Red Heart Super Saver (white) and a Caron 1 lb mill end (blue). And the logo is more centered in real life, it's just a little off in the photo.

That is such an awesome idea....I can think of quite a few people in my life I could make little "themed" coffee sleeves for.... (ponders)
