After browsing this part of Craftster, I decided to dip into the unfamiliar waters of embroidery...ooo...haha

This is my first attempt! I cheated and used a template thing that my mother had bought for me the last time she was in the city.

Is it okay, for a first timer? Or am I doing horribly? haha

Since when is using a template "cheating"!?  Except for stealing other's work, you are free to create your own patterns out of anything you see good needle art in.

It's an excellent quality first project, or even tenth project.  If you're going to do anything differently, loosen up on your stitches just a touch.  If you're not using a hoop, using one will help as will using a fair amount of tension; just under permenantly stretching your fabric.

If you like crests, do you doodle?  Start doodling on cleaner and larger pieces of paper. Soon, you will have your very own, original patterns of crest type scrolls.
