aww, we'll miss you guys this round Sad

I couldn't participate in for the first round either Sad I seriously need to get in the 3rd round if there is one!  This is certainly a great swap!

And can I just ask, what is a tip-in?

A tip in is a page or set of pages that is added to a book or magazine after it is made.  Have you ever read a book that was all black and white except for a group of color photos in the middle?  That group in the middle is a tip-in.

In this context, it's an *altered* page or set of pages that is added to an altered book or journal, or bound together in and of themselves.

fast typing Kat Smiley-tip-in is just a term used when you make individual pages that can be glued/attatched to an existing journal.  Instead of sending around a blank journal to be altered, you get the altered pages from your partners and "tip" them into your book.  At least thats what I think it means Smiley  waaay cheaper for mailing!

I hope there will be another round this year, so many people can't play right now.  it might just be a few of us this time......  I would like to do a round with print  or any kind of book pages (kids books, dictionaries, foreign language books, medical encyclopedias....)

Wow thanks for your quick replies girls and thanks for enlightening me with the answer to my question.

And I really do hope that there is another round this year AM - I have to get in on the act of altering journal pages.  I have completely got hooked on paper crafts recently!

Oh, I think this looks really grand!
I'm wondering if my skills are up to par...I guess my big question is, is this mostly for altering existing papers/objects, or for painting/drawing/whatever, your own original artyness?  I love to draw/paint, but I'm not really an expert in all the neat techniques for altering photos and that kind of stuff...

its pretty much a free for all Grin  take a look at the previous gallery, there was drawing, painting, collageing.....as long as you stick to your partners colour you can do the page however you like!!

shooting star paper is like crack at my house-you should see the stacks of creative gold (or all that crap as other people in the house like to call it...) everyw.ere!

I really wanted to do this one, too, but have too many other things going on right now  Sad. So, I will just be drooling/stalking the gallery once things start going up~
