I think the frame and the grout would look good in black! The black seems like it would offset the colors nicely  Smiley

Please think twice before using black grout. You have some very nice contrasts. I do use black more than any other grout, but, it isn't necessarily the best choice in every application. I think that the dark/light contrast, especially in the clear or frosted glass on the lower left could be lost if you use black. Also, I would use black ,eggshell type finish on the frame. Then texture it with red some how. What ever you decide, I really like this piece. Nice work.

So, I found some old windows on Craigslist and they are now in my car, hoping to become something half as cool as this! Thanks for the inspiration! Now to figure out a design and find some glass! Fun! Any advice you have on either of those would be great.  Wink

That is great! I'm honored to be an inspiration for you.  Smiley

The design depends on what you're looking for as far as traditional, modern, abstract, etc.

Will it be for you, or someone else? Colors are important also, but that will be driven by the design you choose.

I posted a couple more links for online sites to order from, in the resource topic for you.

Craig's List? I need to check that out. Everyone keeps talking about all the great finds on there. Have you had much luck other than the window score?

Thanks! I am excited! I may have to wait until after the holidays to really start but I have already sketched out a rough design. I have 1 plain square window and 2 that are 3 narrow panes, 1 small and 1 big. I have a design for the 3 paned ones, just need to decide if I should start big or small!
I love Craigslist, I buy and sell things on there all the time. I redecorated my living room for "free" by selling my furniture and limiting my budget to what I sold. It was a fun project!

Did you draw your design on the glass, or put paper under it? Or are you some kind of crafting superhero who doesn't need to follow lines?  Wink (it wouldn't surprise me, this may be my favorite thing ever on Craftster)

Those are some great deals you got! I'm gonna have to check out Craig's List in my area...Hubby may not like the outcome. Wink

Generally when I do glass on glass I draw my design, and put it underneath as I lay out the basics. Just because I am pretty anal.  Grin

I'm hoping to find an older window pane that is either 4 or 6 panels. I want to do a fireplace screen for my living room. If I can find what I want in a reasonable amount of time I will try to get glass and frame it myself for the project.

Please post progress of this project. I would love to see what you're working on. Smiley It is great to have another person on Craftster doing mosaics.
