Here is my first stab at the delectable Butterick reissue of their Whirl Away dress.
So much fun to wear and to make- and pretty quick!
I was glad I made it on my Mum's old Singer, which goes much faster than my newish Elna, as it has a lot of long, long seams and hems...
I cut the waist one size larger than the bust, having read quite a few reports of the waist being very narrow, but I probably could have got away with making it all one size.
More info and pics on my blog.
It makes me happy!

I love how it turned out!  I really like the fabric you used!  Is it a cotton blend?  Looks good!

I have seriously been eyeing off that pattern since 10th grade (roughly 7 years ago!!!). I always thought it wouldn't fit me properly (having a normal sized waist as opposed to one scraped inwards with a corset), and that it would be way above my skill level - you have, however, convinced me that it's definitely worth a try!
It looks outstanding on you Smiley

Well done!

That dress is very flattering on you and the color looks great! No matter how much I see this dress, I just love it!

Calsters- thank you! I think it's pure cotton (although I couldn't swear on it- the fabric had been in the shop for 20 years, and had lost it's tag)

mararara- hurrah! I'm so glad you're convinced. Butterick class it as a "Fast and Easy" and I agree with them. There are only 3 pattern pieces! and Thanks!

And thanks Mienna and amyracinrose, also! I'm a sucker for vintage patterns too...
