I was inspired to attempt my very first paper mache project.  I calculated it to cost about $10-12 per tree.  I have two more to do.

Here are the finished pics.

(the branches are out of the shot, I'll try for a better one tomorrow)

Okay, these are totally creepy... I'd love to make one, but then I think I'd have nightmares for a month!

The DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA has (or had the last time I was there), these sculptural wire bodies (chicken wire, I think), covered with a green mesh/gauze on the trees near the parking lot. I loved them, but they always gave me the willies. I think it was from watching the Wizard of Oz at too young of an age- when the trees came alive in the forest...as scary as the Wicked Witch...

These are right along the same lines...
