It's finally arrived! My embroidery book, Doodle Stitching: Fresh and Fun Embroidery for Beginners is now available and I am soooo excited to share it with you! It's full of lots of fun projects, patterns and ideas to incorporate hand embroidery into your life. Here are some sneak peaks, I would love to hear what you think!

OH MY GOSH! This looks so fun and adorable!

I've done a teensy bit of embroidering, but it was more of a just pick it up and wing it sort of thing!

However, i still have TONS of embroidery floss from when I was hand making bags (i found that the thickness of the thread made the bags more sturdy) and since I got my machine I haven't used any of it!

So, long story short, this would be perfect for me to help me get through my stash!

Unfortunately, I'm poor right now, so I'll drop my boyfriend tons of hints to get this for me as a Christmas present (or a "hey, I love you" present ) and until I get it, I think I'll just start winging it again... Maybe it will prove worthwhile!

I got mine the other day and I love it! I've already ordered a pair of brown canvas sneakers (from Target) to embroider. And, I love the little felt critters, so I'm digging out my felt supply to see what I can do.

The projects in the book look so fun, that I'm inspired to start doing a few doodles (beyond my usual geometric boredom) to see how they look when I embroider them. Now, to find all of my embroidery supplies...

This is a perfect book for beginners.  My grandmother taught us all to embroider by having us (boys included) write our names on our handkerchiefs (yes I am old) and then embroidering them.  At the time I thought she was punishing us for saying we were bored, but now I agree there is never a reason to be bored.
