First off, let me thank everyone whom has sent me comments either here or via private message on this piece.  I needed to do it for myself.  I really do appreciate all of the kind words from all over the world.  We have a wall in my department's building on campus with emails from all over the world with thoughts of love and support and condolences.  It reminds me of the Berlin Wall (like our campus commons area), but it is definitely good for healing.

If anyone is curious here is our memorial page from NIU:

Nicely done!

I work at NIU.  On my drive home tonight, I was thinking about how I could use my craftiness to comfort people.  I'm not sure yet, but I like that you took this to something crafty.

Thinking of you and all my fellow Huskies.

Forward, together forward.

edit: If you hear of anything, please let me know.

I'd love to let you know, however, I haven't heard of anything yet.  Let's start up something.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

All this week I could not stop thinking about this thread.

Our school just donated a little under 3000 dollars for a scholarship, and it was split equally among each of the victims families.

im not sure if you heard about this, but i thought i would share.

it was so nice, each person in our school only gave a dollar, and look how much we got.

Hi all~
This is a very tragic situation and I think us talking about this is a wonderful and healthy way to heal and help eachother, but I have to put my mod hat on and make sure that we stay of the crafting topic.  Thanks for understanding.
