Hi, just out of curiousity, to the people who do crafts full time and run online stores, etc. Do you have a set schedule for yourself? Or do you just do it when you feel like it? I have a hard time keeping a schedule and I find that I have too much FREEDOM and just do things when I feel like it. I want to set a schedule for myself... How you do you work? Roll Eyes

gooood question-i have trouble keeping myself motivated-i'm such a lenient boss to myself.  i tried writing my own hours into my day planner, but that didn't work.  now i tell myself how many hours i want to put in each week so i have more flexibility each day.  the hard part is not talking myself out of it.  even though i love the freedom, it's very hard to not take advantage of it and be a slacker.  i'm sure it's different for everybody, though.

oh! i totally envy you guys - i have a hard time making myself NOT work. now don't misunderstand - it's not that i am a great self-motivator. it's just that if i leave the studio i bump into all the housework i've left undone and making is mess is always more appealing than cleaning one up.  Smiley

but seriously - what works best for me is not trying to stick to a set time schedule. i find (don't we all? haha) that life always has a way of interfering. instead, i make task oriented goals - this week i want to finish ___. that way i can remain flexible about WHEN i work and still get things accomplished.

i remember those days - everybody used to tell me that i should sleep when the baby slept, but i never could. all i could think about was all the stuff i wanted to get done. i would just quote warren zavon - "i'll sleep when i'm dead"
