So, last Sunday.. I was bored. I got the idea in my head to make a severed zombie hand. Something I learned in art was to make an armature. And since I didn't have anything to make a mold out of, I think I did pretty good. And, I didn't like the green zombie color I used, so I painted over it in skin tone.. I may go back with a green wash to make it more zombie-esque instead of a normal .. severed hand.  Roll Eyes

This is what I started with...

I'll come back and add more pictures, and the tutorial?
I don't have time right this second, though. Tongue

Hah. Thanks.

While working on it I asked my dad for "some sandpaper for my hand" and he made a very puzzled look. The hand made some interesting moments. Especially while just lying around.

Yay, nice! Cheesy
Few years ago I made a hand like this to my friend. As a birthday present. But the hand looked something like this:

and had some money between its fingers. I liked it and so did my friend. She still has that hand on her cupboard, though it now has only 4 fingers, not 5. Grin

But you did very nice job, I like it! Smiley

Why doesn't evolution work with embroidery kits?

Reminds me of the ones on Carol Duvall, but they used rubber wash gloves!

Either way, it's always fun to talk about your hand, or 'give someone a hand' lol!

It doesn't need to be green to be a zombie, it already has perfectly acceptable zombie coloring and features.

Is the armature just tape?

The armature is made of wire and covered in masking tape.. then I used some newspaper, and taped that to it for some volume, and then used homemade paste-y mixture to cover the rest of it. That made it pretty heavy.
