My daughter often sees me knitting or crocheting or sewing, and she had been nagging me to teach her. She's not 6 yet so I thought we'd start with a felt dress. I made her trace the pattern pieces, cut them out, sew the side seams with running stitch, and secure straps and felt decorations with buttons. I sewed the snap buttons for the back closure. I'm quite impressed that she persevered until the end!

There's more about the project in my blog, including how to make the doll's hair.

That's so sweet. I have a 5 year old, and it is sometimes hard to have the patience required to let her "sew," so kudos for you to that.

I peeked at your blog, as well, and you've got so many great things on there! I love the little bunny dress and outfit. Your pictures are fantastic, as well.

She did a great job!
I looked at your blog and the directions for making her hair were great.  Thank you.  My dd (who is 11) is collecting felt for making a bear.  She loves to check out what everyone is creating here.
