Details of swap:
Postage costing an arm and leg? Look no more, here is the swap for you

Ever wondered how much you could flat pack into a standard envelope? Wonder no more

Flat pack fill a standard envelope of these approximate dimensions

 8.7in by 4.3 in
 22cm by 11cm

with anything you or more appropriately, your partner would like. Magazine clippings, images, paintings, buttons, stickers etc.

You can opt for multiple partners since the cost of sending is so so low!

For people in the US Handy info from penlowe:

The US Post Office considers a Letter to be under two ounces and in a rectangular envelope that is no thicker than1/4 inch- that's what goes through the automated machine on it's own. 2 ounces is roughly three standard sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 paper in a size A envelope (4 1/8 x 9 1/2, your regular buisness size envelope).

Under two ounces but thick (like the smallest bubble mailer) is the next standard postage, I think 56 cents. Square envelopes also fall into this category. Standard size but over 2 ounces converts to regular first class postage rates.

Consumer Reports studied postage costs between UPS, FedEX, USPS & a couple others. They found anything under 2 pounds USPS was the best value. Smaller carriers were better locally, especially with large or unusual sized packages.

For those in AUS: A envelope of dimensions descriped above, will cost about $2.00 as long as you dont make it bulky. It must still classify as a letter. They put it through a cardboard slot and if it doesnt fit you'll have to pay extra, or remove something from it. Don't attach stamps because that means extra GST. There are green customs slips at the post office. Fill them in before you go and you will save a lot of time. Be as specific as you can about whats on the inside of the package or customs will rip it to shreds.

The heavier the objects the more likely you are to pay but i send jewellery and paintings on calico and have never had a problem

It's pretty cheap (11SEK) to send things that weigh less than 20g from Sweden, as long as it's a standard letter. Up to 100g is a bit more expensive, but still affordable (25 SEK if you send outside Europe).

Aww... I wish I could join, but I lose my newb status the 13th...
I've got a neat little website for you lucky ones. Envelope and letter folding: http://www.ghh.com/elf/

I can't decide if I have time for this one.
It sounds like a lot of fun and really easy.
If I get everything done for my other swap by the 1st I will definitely sign up.  Smiley
