I inherited this half finished afghan from my aunt, but I'm pretty new to crochet and I can't figure out what stitch it is.  Whatever is it, it looks pretty simple, so I'm hoping I can finish it up.  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Yep, that's single crochet (SC)!  Cheesy Insert your hook through that hoop hanging there, pass your yarn over (yo) the hook so you have 3 loops there, draw your hook through 1 hoop so you have just 2 hoops on the hook again, yo again, draw both hoops through so you have one hoop left on your hoop and repeat  Wink Hope that's clear?
