i pretty much have all of Elizabeth Zimmermann's books and totally adore them all even if many of the patterns overlap.
my sister is out east now and no longer has access to my books- she wants to know which one EZ should she buy

i'm thinking "knitting workshop" as it has so many of her classic patterns - like tomten, baby surprise, yoked sweaters, eps etc ...

what do you guys think?

i'm torn because even as i write this but what about the opinionated knitter, knitting without tears ......

Personally, I'd go for The Opinionated Knitter. I think it's more classic and pretty in addition to having what are, in my opinion, the most necessary info. But the Knitting Almanac is also project-heavy and the cheapest even if it doesn't have the Tomten or Baby Surprise. This is a hard question!

Really tough question!  I too have all of them, my most recent being The Opinionated Knitter.  It does have all the classics and some gorgeous photos!  And all the anecdotes about EZ and some of her own ramblings...I guess I would choose it.

I want to buy my first EZ book now, and they don't come easy - I have to order it from abroad.

I am thinking of getting "Knitting Workshop", and I would also like to hear opinions about this choice...

Thanks!

i ended up telling my sister The Opinionated Knitter - mainly because it is prettier than Knitting Workshop - both books are fantastic but O.Knitter has great photos and really introduces you to Elizabeth Zimmermann
