Age Concern are again pairing up with Innocent Smoothies for the Big Knit, asking for donations of mini knitted hats to decorate special charity bottles of their yummy smoothies:

i don't knit and don't know any more details than are on the Innocent site (http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/thebigknit/) but I remember seeing these cuties last year and a friend mentioned that her Nanna was knitting up a storm this year so thought best I could do would be to give it a shout out here Smiley

Thanks for your time

(Oh and patterns are on the aforementioned sites if anyone wants to make mini hats just for the heck of it!)

I think I may knit some and send them over. They are adorable and for a great cause. You don't have to be in the UK to send some in  Grin

Hadn't seen this thread. If anyone is interested in joining a kal for these I've posted this in kal forum.   I'd like to see how many we can make between us.

Hi everyone, I'm a long-term lurker (especially on the Harry Potter crafting threads!).

I'm really excited about The Big Knit - my friends made loads and loads of hats last year, but I had RSI and could only watch them Sad This year I'm planning to make up for it, and I've also set up a pledge to knit at least 5 hats (though I'm totally going to knit more!).

I hope it's OK for me to post this here, but I'd really appreciate it if anyone planning to knit a hat would sign my pledge - http://www.pledgebank.com/thebigknit07. I'm trying to raise at least 40 hats for Innocent, and raise awareness of the hat drive, so the more sign-ups the better Smiley

Thank you! I'm now over halfway to my goal of 35 knitters (but secretly I'm hoping for more... but shhh, I don't want to jinx it Wink ).

I can't wait for November - it'll be great to see all the little bottle-wearing hats lined up in the shops!

Woo! My pledge has succeeded! Thanks to all the Craftster knitters who added their names to it Smiley It's still open until the middle of October if anyone else wants to sign.

Now I need to get started on all my hats  Grin

I pledged and am just going to find some wool and some tiny needles to get cracking, I think I'll find my neon wool and do loads in that....

What a great way to raise awareness for age concern and knitting in general.

Yay for knitters  Grin

P.S. Anyone in the  Eastbourne Hailsham Polegate area of East Sussex who would like to help me set up a Bobble Hat Knitathon please PM me and we'll do it for the old people.....  Wink
