My Husand was grousing about only having one (Christmas-y) apron to wear, so I made him a T-Rex Apron!  I found the fabric at fabric.com, and the pocket is from some scrap my mom had lying around.  The T-rex on the pocket is adapted from a free coloring book picture on line.

The Embroidery is chiefly stem stitch, with a french knot for the nose and chain stitch on the spatula handle. This is my first ever appliqu!  It was trickier than I expected.

I might go back and use a bunch of seed stitches to fill in the body of the T-rex, as I'm not sure if he shows up well.
Oh, and sorry about the lighting!

Enjoy!

this is the most rocking apron i have ever seen.
I think it'll look better with the embroidery. right now he's not that visible from a distance.

With cool fabric like that, any man would love to wear an apron! Your embroidery adds that special touch and makes it a one-of-a-kind! Lucky hubby!

Thanks! He was really pleased with it.  He did his T-Rex imitation, and was generally as enthusiastic as you could wish.  He says it grants him super powers, like making pancakes. Smiley

Pancake-making is awfully super...

I love the apron and the fact the T-rex is wearing his own apron! Awesome!

That's an awesome apron! Such a happy hubby, too!

I like the T-rex as an outline. His little apron is gorgeous.
