thanks for all the craftster-love!  we're both pretty proud of the chair.  neither of us had ever done any upholstery before and i'd never sewn in a zipper... didn't tell him that until it was done, though!

Beautiful work!! This is amazing!

Maybe it's just me, but the pictures from afar make the chair look like it's leather, and then closer up look like it's softer material... either way, it's gorgeous!

That is beautiful!  It would have no trouble holding its own in someplace like Roche Bobois or any high-end furniture store.  It has that mid-century modern appeal that fits right it with Eames and the like.  Would look amazing in a Neutra house. I WANT IT! Smiley

That would be the perfect piece for next to my fireplace! It looks really comfy to lounge on. Please let me know if it does go into mass production, it is definately a piece I would purchase! Did he do well in his course?

thanks again everyone!  there actually is a (very slight) chance that you could someday purchase one of your very own!  the class visited design within reach before the quarter started, and they're talking about taking the 3 best chairs from the class there for a show.  and maybe producing them?

like i said, slim chance, but i'm rooting for him!  he is a pretty fantastic guy!!
