hi beautiful crafty peoples Smiley

this is my first time post so scarycited!! ive just spent the day making marble magnets after being inspired by the fantastic projects posted here.

i had a little brainwave on how to turn them into a necklace. it's all finished now and i think it looks pretty awesome! bear with me i hope these photos link up okay.... deep breath... here goes...

the marble on no.4 is upside down and the pink disk in no.5 is just a cirlcle of paper glued on to the back of the marble sandwiching the wire between the two layers holding it in there nice and snug.

here is my finished necklace, i used an old copy of the indian times as the background i love the antique look of the paper newspaper - i hope the articles are okay - i cant read hindi (if anyone can - let me know what this says!)

i made the chain just out of wire and a pair of pliers ( just the cheapest roll of wire and pliers i could find) just made a loop at the end of the wire, threaded the bead on and looped the other end... sounds a bit complicated -  if anyone would like a more detailed explanation on anything i'd be happy to post it here Smiley heres a close up...

and heres another one i finished last night.

hope someone out there can use this idea - and that the same think hasn't been posted already 100 times!
working on some different styles & bracelets etc - love to know what you guys think

yours nervously

thanks for the positive feedback - ive been wearing the neclace all day and the silicone glue holds the wire onto the back of these puppies tight!! theyre not going anywhere!

such a simple idea has a lot of potential - would love to see what you guys come up with.

Hi,
I love your work.  I saw a marble necklace in a magazine that used one large marble and a thick ribbon.  Someone posted a marble necklace but didn't explain how to do it.  No one has come up with anything like this.

Are the marbles heavy?

You rock! I was definately going to do something along these lines, but it was going to be more of a mosaic type necklace,...cant explain. Your creations are beautiful...Smiley

What kind of glue does everyone recommend for this? Thanks

heres a photo of all the aussie supplies i threw together for the necklace - i think you guys have different stuff in america - but any silicone glue should work.

are they heavy?

no not really, because ive put them on a long piece of wire then attatched the chain they dont shift around at all - they sit really nicely against my (whatever that part of your body's called...uh) um, decolette? anyway i dont think theyre heavy... or maybe i just like heavy jewellery...

thanks for all of your positive feedback guys - i'm buzzing!!
