the Jem costume? So awesome!
Ditto on the Dead/Red Riding Hood!!
And the Alice turned out really well!!

Everyone is doing super! Cheesy

I got my stuff done for the most part, although the pictures are awful.
I'll have to take more tomorrow.

My costume-- a tame version of an Army-inspired Burlesque girl:

(my way of ridding myself of weird-shaped scraps of olive fabrics, and a ton of old appliques, buttons, and trims).
I love my little hat! It was so easy to make, easier than all the other teency hats I've cranked out.

Then, there's the Nibbler for my boyfriend. My piece de resistance for this Halloween season. He loves it, despite the serious lack of visibility and air circulation.
Yay!

Happy Halloween, everyone! Be Safe, and keep up the great work!

I love the nibbler costume. I wish my boyfriend was such a good sport! I can't complain though, he is pretty handy with a sewing machine Wink.

Here is my finished pony costume:

Everyone's costumes are so fabulous! And, how_german, I'm so sorry your bearded lady costume didn't come out! That would have been bomb. If it was a time issue, I think you should make it post-halloween anyway, and just keep it around in case you ever need to dress up like a carnie. (;

My Little Bo Peep costume was cancelled until three-o-clock yesterday. I had to make Marie Antoinette (It came out deplorably, but the hat came out really well.) and Velma Kelly costumes for two seperate events before I had time to do my Ms. Peep. My Velma Kelly came out really well, I think. I sewed a pre-made black tanktop to a straight skirt and put fringe all over it. I have this really gaudy, orientalism-style coat thing which I added a fur collar to. Mary Janes, Fishnets, and tons of rouge, and tah-dah!! Unfortunately, I can't find the pictures!

Fortunately, I suddenly got the urge to finish. I didn't make a bodice, however, so I'll just be wearing a beige canvas corset with it. I had my mom take a few pictures at the halloween party we went to.

Here are a few pics of Bo Peep, I'll take more tomorrow.

Out of pure coincidence, me, my little brother, and stepdad all ended up having a theme. They were going as Buzz and Woody (my mom made their costumes) and not until we were all half-way dressed did we realize that Bo Peep was in Toy Story.

(My skirt is TOO LONG! I'm trimming it tonight.)

As unfinished and mediocre my costume is, I got SO many compliments. It made me feel much better about it.

And here's my Marie Tricorn. It was a White Witch hat in its previous life. (as a note, the blue band & Cameo across the wig are not part of the hat.)

This is a shot of the flowers, feathers, and playing card on the back of the hat:

I did end up making my clown costume...and although I wanted to do a couple costume...we decided that we would get the best reaction if we dressed him up as a Hooters girl.....we walked into the bar and everyone cheered!.!

one of my sleeves ripped off but it still looked cool so I left it...

by the end of the night my nose wouldn't go back on because people kept trying to honk it!.!

I also cut the hooters shirt which wasn't that hard to do...the hardest part of his was finding xtra large queen size shimmery nylons!.! we had to settle for sheer.... Cheesy

I. Will. Never. Wait. Until. The. Last. Night. Ever. Again.
This is my solemn (probably to be broken next year) vow.
So, I nixed my gown idea (pure laziness) in favor of an easier costume.
Tonight, I made:
A Rosie the Riveter costume *bought old coveralls, though*
2 adorable matching sheep for my friends
The finishing touches on a friend's Bo Peep (reconstructing a hat, as I already made the apron and skirt)
An "L" shirt from a turtleneck
...and various other things.
Action shots to follow!

Nah, it was more of a fabric issue.  I bought some lime green satin for the corset/bodice and it had a little bit of silver glitter flecked over it.  When I ironed it I discovered that someone that knows absolutely nothing about sewing decided it would be totally cool to use GLUE to stick the glitter on the fabric. It ruined the fabric and got adhesive bullshit on the iron.  I tried ironing between papertowels but it was a miserable ordeal.  When I tried sewing it, it gunked up the machine! Sad

I hate to admit defeat, but this late in the game I had no other choice.
