well i couldnt quite figure out where to put this, so:

This dogs purpose is to guard the door and let no drafts invade  Wink

I modeled him for a friend after his dog (an alpine dachsbracke http://www.answers.com/topic/alpine-dachsbracke , looking rather dachshund similar)

its one meter long and filled with foam. the paws on the door side are fastened with elastic to keep him near the door when opening and closing.

on the door:

full length

paws

in the mean time i fixed the left eye

hope you like it.

This is so adorable!  I've always wanted a weiney dog but now that I have an overly protective cat I don't think thats going to happen.  And with super drafty doors this seems perfect  Grin

Great job!

that's really cool!  and what a great idea to use elastic so you don't have to worry about putting it back near the door

That is SOOOOO CUTE!!! How wise to use that to block the wind! Now, you'll have to watch other animals and CHILDREN!!! That neither of them snatch it away for its cuteness. Glue it to the door. Hehe *joking*!

Thanks for your nice comments.

Yesterday his real life model met the draft dog and it was so cute to see him look curiously at it and tap it with his foot.

Since i soon want to make another one for myself i could easily take pics for a tute. It will be super easy, this was my first stuffed animal and it went really fast.

I have a friend that I do swaps with fairly often that would loooove to receive a draft doggie.... and my son could use one on his window too....  If you do make the tutorial, I can see a few dogs in my future!!

I just came across this cute doggie draftdodger.  You said you would be making another and would take pictures for a tute.  I was wondering if you ever made up a pattern for this.  I would love to make this for a gift.

I'm (impatiently) awaiting your tutorial for this cutie! He looks so appealing, not too sure if the grandchildren will allow him to live on the floor if I make him though..... Mmmmm feels like the ideal opportunity to make more than one then ehh???   Grin
