My actual first dress didn't work out so well and was turned into a skirt so tried again:

In person it doesn't look quite so busy and you can get a better idea of the shape.

Details:
Pattern: McCall 5380
Fabric: Robert Kaufmann Kitchy Kitchen from www.downshadowlane. etsy.com (a really awesome seller!)
Modifications:  I added some length to the bodice but I think I should have added more.  I guess I'm long from my shoulders to my bust if that's possible.  When I first tried it on it was way too wide in the bust and flared out under my arms so I pinched in about two inches on each side and sewed an inverted triangle and cut off the excess.  I'm not sure if this is kosher but it seemed to work!  Next time I think I'll do a smaller size for the bodice and larger for the skirt.

I'm pretty happy with it and if the weather warms up I'll wear it to two upcoming wedding with a stole I knit.  My first entirely handmade outfit!

I like this one much better! It looks darling and the fabric is perfect for a summery dress in that style!  Nice job! I was glad to see that you adjusted the bodice on this one--the fit is flattering! YAY!

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.
