Okay, so I've had my faithful pencil case for about three years now and today it decided that one side of the zipper wanted to come out.  Cry I'm a complete newbie to zippers, so I was wondering if there was any possible way to fix it?

If not, how would I make a sturdier bigger bag? Part of the reason the zipper probably came off is because I put a lot of stuff into that case! The only reason it's held up so long is because it's made out of jeans material. I tried looking up the pencil case tutorials, but none of the pictures are working! Oh, and is it possible to make a sturdy pencil case without a zipper? I haven't learnt that yet. As easy as possible please!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Smiley

I don't see any reason not to make one without a zipper.  A flap and velcro would work, although if I were doing this, I would put the holes for a binder down the side as usual but put the opening with the flap across the top.  That way, pens/pencils would be less likely to sneak out of the pouch between the side seam and the velcro. (Clear as mud??)

Cheesy Hi ZaftigMomma!

That's a good idea, but I would also like pockets for erasers, scissors, glue sticks, etc. and I'm not sure how to do that.

I wish I had some way of showing you  Undecided
I THINK there's a tutorial for either a make-up or jewellery roll  somewhere on here that had like a fold out pocket on one side....that might work
