I got a great Gil Elvgren pinup postcard from veganxwater, but since its copyrighted artwork I'm hesitant to post it here (it's not indecent or anything, its simply the copyright issue).

I'm living/working in Yosemite Nat'l Park til further notice! Blogging about it here. No swapping for me, and minimal crafting time, for the coming months. Almost done with library school! That sums things up for now.

Aren't all postcards copyrighted?

I think so, but there's usually something on them (a background or the name of the place pictured) that makes them look like a postcard; whereas this is just the painted image, no text on it (same situation with the postcard I sent out, actually). Also, most images on postcards are produced with the intention of having them become postcards, or at least selling them for commercial purposes, but lotsa art postcards like the one I received are images extracted from published books and private collections, so it wasn't the original intention of the artist to make a postcard picture; in these cases, I want to respect the artist and whomever holds the rights to her/his images.

Love her!  Gil Elvgren's artwork is some of my absolute favorite.

Here's my last postcards from this swap:

Bonbabbu sent me this vintage photo showing an old transportation vehicle. Next to it is a card from TwiztedBlood (we did a personal swap). So cute!

Thank you both. Smiley

Here's my last card from have2craft. She had trouble with the USPS...but I got this cool one so it all worked out okay! If any of you ever see the things I post about my yard art you'll know how much I like the card!!

Thanks to all my swap partners and to Twiztidblood-you're a super cool organizer!!

What a great card!  Love the old rusted framework.
