Hi there!  I live in Charlotte and am CONSTANTLY looking for new places to buy fabrics and notions locally.  There aren't very many good ones here.  We have the standard Hancock's.  I am pretty sure that there is a Hobby Lobby in Concord, which should be pretty close to you and there may be a JoAnn's near there as well.  In CHarlotte, the only place with better fabrics is Sewing Arts Studio which is out towards Pineville (south of Charlotte).  And in Gastonia there is Mary Jo's which is HUGE!!!  it's about 20 minutes south of Charlotte and probably your best bet.  Hope that helps!  And welcome to NC!!!

I live in Salisbury, I haven't been in here in a long time.....been doing school stuff.  I had a yard sale other day, not so good, but met a couple ladies who crochet and they said they need a store in Salisbury......well I have been having this idea in my head since the mid-90's about a co-op that would be a place for crafters and collectors.  A place to purchase supplies, sell your craft, and share your craft through classes and such.  I am having a meeting with someone to see what all it would take to make this dream a reality July 8th.....*crosses fingers*.  I have heard the Webb Road Flea Market is a good place to go, also on occasion the Nazereth Thrift store up across from where you turn in for I-Hop.....go up a bit just over the curvey hill and is on left....they sometimes have craft supplies in there....and is a neat store anyways.  To set up and sell at the flea market is only 8 bucks outside, but to rent a canopy for shade is 50 and to get someone to come relieve you for breaks is priceless.....I am still considering that option, but is a bit pricey for me right now......I am attempting to learn to crochet, but I am mainly a creator of beaded, hemp jewelry, take old broken jewelry and make new stuff......collect collectable costume for resale......

Glad to meet you....perhaps some day we can meet
