Hi guys! Just wanted to share my new shirt with you. My best friend and I went to see the Family Values Tour last week. By the time we got to the merchandise table, a majority of the bands had come to pick their stuff up already and I didn't get to buy myself an Atreyu shirt. I decided to make one instead of ordering one online, because where's the fun in that?
So here is the result of a $3 black Hanes boys t-shirt, a bottle of bleachy water, a stencil from the stencilry, and a little patience with an x-acto knife:

Cheap and crafty is the way to be!

This shirt was inspired in part by normashelleyjean's awesome live.love.burn.die shirt (she used the same stencil on the back of her shirt and it turned out way cool Smiley )

oh yay i love that!! your contrast is so vibrant, i love bleach because it's always a surprise how the shade is gonna come out...
what did you use for the letters? if you look in between the two words on this shirt i did: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190092.0
to the right, you can faintly see 2 blank spots...thats where i had originally placed contact paper, because i was trying to make a shirt like yours, but all my bleach ran through the fabric....so i gave up and just painted the letters on top of the bleach

Considering what a hardcore Atreyu fan I am, I am extremely impressed! Infact, I've always been a lurker here and you just forced me to make my first post!! I absolutely love how you even managed to capture their typical font style in the name. Awesome job!

Wow, thanks guys! Grin

normashelleyjean: I used the freezer paper ironed onto the t-shirt method. I was really worried about the bleach bleeding through, but I guess the waxy stuff on the back of the paper was enough to hold up for the short amount of time I left the bleach on. Your shirt turned out cool though!
