Hello crafty community! I just moved to the Yakima area and, of course, I'm looking for all the best craft stores and thrift shops. Wink so, locals, what is your fav place in the valley? Thanks in advance.

I know this has been a while.  Did you move to the Valley or to Yakima?  In the valley there is not really much.  In Prosser there are 2 quilt shops and that is about it.  I live in Grandview and go to the Tri-Cities more.

Hello!  I just registered and am tickled to see anyone from Eastern/Central WA!!

I'm in Yakima...

Favorite thrift stores...

Depends - St. Vincent de Paul in Union Gap is old school thrift - and I find cool stuff on occasion...the Salvation Army (one in Union Gap, one in Yakima) tend to be a bit over priced and "dealer" oriented....The Discovery Shop - on Yakima Ave between 5th & 6th Ave (across from Salvation Army) gets high quality donations and when I find something nifty there its always a treat...Value Village...kinda icky these days...Goodwill?  A classic - but very picked over...

The Plaid Door on 40th between Summitview and Lincoln gets some interesting stuff...its classic thrift shop - one of my favorites...

Good luck!

retrodiva - We are very few and far between on here.  Thanks for all the great ideas of places to go.  Do you know of store that sells embroidery floss besides the usual?
