I got a snowsuit type thing at goodwill. It's cute - arms, legs, hood, leapord print!, ears, and a tail.

All it needs is stuffing, a face and sealing up the zipper. My problem - How should I do the face? I'd love to do a feline face, but I'm not sure how to make and attach it...

I'm thinking all I'd need to do is turn the hood inside out and whipstitch the face in, then start stuffing, but it would be easier to get it stuffed nicely with the hood still open...

And I could do a flesh-toned circle, then paint a human face on. But I really want that kitty.

I had this craft book years ago that had instructions for how to make a doll out of an infant's footie pyjamas.

To make the head for this doll, you'd take a pair of nylons whatever colour you wanted the doll's flesh to be, and cut one leg off and cut the toes off so that you'd be left with a tube of pantyhose. Tie one end of the tube closed and the knot will be the neck, stuff it and get it in a ball shape, then use a running stitch to gather the open end closed. Then you could just sew on ears and leave the hood like a functioning hood.

I'd be able to find the book and provide some pictures of how it's done if you'd like.

And if you go with another idea, still show somw pictures. Your dolls sounds like it'll be adorable.

Alright, so I found the book and must give kudos to the author, Sheila McGraw who had it published  by Firefly in 1994. I was ten. Dinosaurs roamed the earth. Dinosaurs who wore slouche socks and watched Saved By The Bell.
