stanzi, are you on the mid-50s of the pattern or the chart, because his chart starts at row 47 of the pattern.  and then he knit 55 more rows out from there.  i counted and it should be 472 stitches.  if that's what you have, though, maybe knit a few more rounds if you've got the yarn (but don't forget about the border!).  although it looks like he did a pretty serious blocking job on his blanket to get it to be that big.
Yeah i realized what i was looking at about an hour after i posted my question.  Thanks Smiley  that was quite a blonde moment there.  I agreem he had to have done some crazy blocking, just from looking at how lacy the center looks.  Mine is so smooshy right now. I did pick out enough yarn to keep going past where he did, lets hope i have enough time though!

I finally ordered the yarn for this! I figured that I deserved to start this as soon as possible, due to the sweaters on tiny needles that are my other projects.

I'm casting off now!  As quick as this project was to knit, the cast-off is exactly opposite that.  But it looks worth the effort so far.  I'll post pics when it is done.

yay, it looks great, donna!  I'm also doing mine in ecowool in latte, and I'm about five f & f repeats in and I can't put it down!  I'd post a progess pic but a) it looks just like everyone else's (including brooklyntweed's, and he takes better pictures) and b) all my batteries are dead.

I got my yarn for this in the mail yesterday! I cast on last night & so far so good - I'm making two of these for christmas gifts, but it's so beautiful that I may have to make a third for me Smiley

I'm using Elann.com's Super cable aran & size 8 needles.

i've been following this thread and just kind of caved and bought some yarn for this blanket. i'm in the middle of moving, so it might be a while before i can start, like, not until i've unpacked a few things. but it was on sale at webs! i got this yarn:
http://yarn.com/webs/0/0/0/0-1001-1294-1323/0/0/2277/
in stone blue. in one last grasp for responsibility, i had the yarn shipped to my new apartment, so i can't possibly start for a few more weeks...
