Inspiration found here (thanks Paperdaisies)

and yelley made one also here:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=185795.0

I didn't follow the pattern exactly.  I have a big head and I thought it was going to be too small.  I added two extra rows of increases (i think?) and it turned out too large!!!  Silly me.  It was easily fixed with a chained string weaved in and out of the double crochet (thanks Tenille for the great idea!)

thumbnails are clickable.

The first pic is more true-to-color.  I used Red Heart Luster Sheen yarn in Ocean.  I am going to make this again in another color.

Thanks Tenille.  I think I chained 3 instead of chain 2 between petals.  I used one chain to close the petal, then I chained 2.  It gave me (I think) too much space between, compared to the picture.  Did you do that also?

Second question, what yarn did you use?

yeah, sounds about right. The first chain is actually part of finishing the stitch and then you have the 2 chained stitches.
