This was made from scraps of MDF we had. It's 2 pieces for added depth. The back is routed out to hold the clock mechanism. I couldn't find pre-made numbers I liked so I ended up having to paint them on. I painted the whole thing in a faux woodgrain and then painted the rose. I hadn't counted on having to painted the numbers too but oh well. I think it turned out cool.

Ahhh... once again mad painting skills! I like the numbers. Especially since they (all) are free handed. Now do you have anything thatyou have created with leftover 2x4s? My parents are building a house and there is tons of little bits leftover;p

I use anything I can get my hands on, 2x4's included. Things just seem to say what they want to be and I go from there. I glued strange angled pieces of 2x4's to a thinner base once in a haphazzard kinda way. I spray painted the whole thing a dark grey and painted on windows, doors, and signs - like a mini skyline of skyscrapers. I called it "Gotham". I'll have to think up some 2x4 projects.......
