I went to a party and liberated about 100 drink umbrellas.

I was thinking about making some sort of paper lantern… cuz a saw a post about that a while back. But when I tracked it down I discovered that I needed some Ikea thing first. I’m a bit broke at the moment.

So what can I do with about 100 drink umbrellas?

Cheaply. Like things around the house. I went to a craft store to get foam balls and discovered that they cost 4.00 for 6 tiny little balls. That’s just bunk. I was all like, “I’m gona stick them in a foam thing…” not anymore

I saw this in a post on Craftster so I can't take credit for thinking of it, but I stuck a bunch in a paper lantern!

I have also seen the paper part used in collages and it was pretty.

A mobile to hang in your window.Use a branch or piece of wire or something to hang some on at various lenghts, add a few beads if you have them.Make magazine beads.Flatten a few out and cover a notebook. Then maybe cover with packing tape to protect?
Swap them.Hang onto them until you can get a lamp shade,if that's what you really want, instead of using them up on other stuff.Go to goodwill and luck into a cheap lampshade to transform?

I have the exact same problem, I bought a box of 200 for a dollar and now have no clue what to do with them.  Though I think I'm just going to end up having a margarita party  Wink
