We had to do a narnia study thingy at school, and there was a section about the biblican significance. I am not religious, so had no idea about a few of the things, but now I totally get it.
As for the dress ups, you could be one of the girls after going through the wardrobe. You could wear normal clothes underneath a fur coat and big boots. That way, you could just take off your big old coat, and look remotely normal.
You could always go as a dryad or a niad (no idea how to spell them), and just wear fairyish clothing, e.g. a pink strappy top, a long green tulley skirt, and a flower wreath in your hair.
 Im aware that your party has probably already been, but I had the urge to post.

wear a fur coat and dust your hair with fake snow. Don't they wear the fur coats from the closet?
