This started as a small old space guy from DH's grandmother's house. He was so nifty I had to build a shrine around him. I had a big shadowbox-you can't really see the silver frame,I had to carefully put it on the scanner.I bought a piece of cool paper all swirled green, black,& gold.I cut a thin sheet of styrofoam to size, wrapped in background paper.Wherever I wanted to place something,I cut an x,peeled back backing paper, cut indentation in foam, laid paper back.Dab of glue, added item.
The shelf he's resting on is a cd cut in half.I used marbles, beads,a superball, earrings, and a few found objects. Why a chicken? I dunno,it was late and I was in full craft fever.I gave him a cape, and said it was Superchicken-yes,you whippersnappers won't remember that cartoon.Smiley The colors are brighter than it looks in this picture.
It's in my kitchen.

Very nice.  (Although I may be biased - I am a sucker for anything clever and enshrined.)  Great subject matter, great assemblage.

The super chicken is brilliant.  I have a lot of rubber chickens - that may need to be my next shrine - "Chickens I have loved"   Thanks for the inspiration.

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

WOW.  I LOVE the chicken saint.  Fabulous.

Funny thing is, I saw a TV piece on that chicken coop - one of those shows that show neat things people have done to their homes.  Can't remember which one (Look What I Did, Rezoned, What's With That House - something like that).  They never mentioned that she was an artist.

And, one good chicken link deserves another:
